Established more than 40 years ago, the competition is credited with putting WA on the map as a producer of quality wines.

Qantas Wine Show of Western Australia. The state's premier wine show judging exclusively Western Australian wines. Beginning in 1978 ( 37 years) as part of the Mount Barker and Districts Agricultural Show, the Qantas Wine Show of Western Australia has grown to become a separate and distinguished event which annually determines the best of Western Australian wines. From only six classes in 1978, the show now includes 44 classes and 19 trophies including the prestigious Qantas Award for Best Wine of Show.

Canberra International Riesling Challenge. Created in Canberra, Australia in 1999 (15 years) to highlight the grape that defines White Wine, Riesling.” The Riesling Challenge attracts wines from Riesling producing countries around the world and is the most significant event of its type in the southern hemisphere.

Wine & Spirits Asia (WSA) began in the year 1988 as a part of Food&HotelAsia (FHA). It is an international exhibition of wine and spirits that aims to actively promote the industry in this thriving region. In the year 2010, WSA grew to become an event of its own, co-located along FHA, with a dedicated platform to better serve the growing demands of the wine and spirits industry in Asia.

The Decanter Asia Wine Awards was launched in 2012 to recognise wines aimed specifically at the Asian market.

Throughout the rigorous judging processes, each medal-winning wine is tasted on three separate occasions by at least 10 different judges and awards include medals (Trophy, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended and Great Value awards.
