A Bit Of History

Towerhill Estate was established in 1993 at Mt Barker in the heart of the Great Southern Region of Western Australia where mild wet winters, well drained soils and warm, dry summers yield outstanding cool climate wines.

Towerhill Estate excels in producing medal winning wines from small parcels of high quality fruit handpicked from responsibly tended, non-irrigated, low yielding vines.

In 1993 the Williams family planted 6.5 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Merlot and Chardonnay vines.

Julian Hanna took over the productive vineyard in 2007 and has been producing Award winning Towerhill wine since 2008. Leith and Lucy joined the venture in 2010.

Julian’s nature and enthusiasm for Towerhill is to learn by doing, asking, sharing, researching; and enjoying the process.

Our aim is for purposeful, best practice wine production and to introduce remarkable wine to a broader appreciation whilst enjoying the beauty and productivity of the region, fostering community participation.

The Towerhill Estate Vision is to make consistent, award winning, signature wine and to create a lifestyle for a family with an extended tapestry of helpers, friends and wine enthusiasts.
